Make printable price tags for shelves, hang tags and stickers, one at a time or in bulk. Add sale prices and the tag shows the discount. Paste from Excel or Google Sheets, import a CSV, then print an A4 sheet.
Highlights
A price tag is for your customer: the price is the biggest thing on it, with the product name above it. When something is on sale, the old price is struck through and the tag says how much they save.
For example, a Classic T-Shirt at KSh 1,500 on sale for KSh 1,200 prints as KSh 1,200, with KSh 1,500 crossed out and “20% off” underneath.
Already have SKUs? Send them here from the SKU Generator or the Barcode Generator with their “Make price tags” button, or import the SKU Generator's CSV export as it is.
To use this tool, start with Step 1 below. In Step 1: Tag style, pick shelf strips, hang tags or square stickers, the currency, and what else goes on the tag. In Step 2: Products, type your products, paste them from a spreadsheet, or import a CSV. Each row is checked as you type. In Step 3: Preview, check every tag and save any of them as a PNG. In Step 4: Print, download an A4 PDF sheet, starting at any position if you're reusing a part-used label sheet.
Choose the kind of tag, the currency, and what else to print.
Type your products, paste cells from a spreadsheet, or import a CSV file.

Price tag guide
The maker lays out and prints the tags. This guide covers what to put on a tag, which style suits which product, how sale prices are worked out, and how to print them cleanly.
Get the basics right
A shopper should be able to read the price from a step away. Everything else is there to support it.
The price is the largest line on every tag. Prices are written the way shoppers expect, such as KSh 1,500, with no decimals for whole amounts.
Short and plain: Classic T-Shirt, not CLSC TEE NVY M. The name shrinks and wraps to fit, but shorter names read better.
The old price is crossed out above the new one, with the saving underneath, so the discount is obvious and honest.
One short line for every tag, such as VAT inclusive, Per kg or Final sale.
Add the SKU so staff can find the item in your records, or a barcode so the till can scan the tag.
Tags print in black so they read in any light and work on any printer. Coloured card or labels add your own look.
Know the difference
All three show the same information. What differs is where they go and what you print them on.
| Style | Where it goes | Sizes | Print on | Layout |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shelf strip | Shelf edge, under the product | 63.5 × 33.9, 63.5 × 38.1, 99.1 × 38.1 mm | A4 label sheet | Name across the top, price large on the right |
| Hang tag | Tied or tagged on clothes, bags, gifts | 48 × 90, 63 × 90, 37 × 68 mm | Card, 160–250 gsm, cut out | Hole marker, then name, price, extras |
| Square sticker | On the product or its box | 45 × 45, 63.5 × 63.5, 35 × 35 mm | A4 square label sheet | Centred: name, price, extras |
Need labels for scanning stock rather than for customers? The Barcode Generator makes labels where the barcode is the main thing.
Worked example
Two sale prices on the same KSh 1,500 T-shirt, and the sum the tool does for each.
Rounding down means the tag never promises more than the real discount: 33.3% off shows as 33% off.
A sale price must be above zero and lower than the price. If it isn't, the row is flagged in Step 2 and left off the sheet until it's fixed.
Save time
You don't need to type products one by one. Start from wherever your product list lives today.
Copy your name, price, sale price, SKU and copies columns, click the first product name cell and paste. New rows are added automatically.
Upload any CSV and match its columns. The SKU Generator's export maps itself: Generated SKU, Product Name and Price come across, and Sale Price and Copies can be added after.
Press Make price tags in the SKU Generator or the Barcode Generator and the products open here, ready for sale prices.
No SKUs yet? Create them with the SKU Generator, then bring them across.
Print it right
Most misaligned tags were printed at the wrong scale. A test page saves a sheet of labels.
Choose 100% or Actual size in the print dialog. Fit to page shrinks the sheet, so tags drift off the labels.
Turn on outlines, print one page on plain paper and hold it against your label sheet to check the fit.
Print hang tags on 160–250 gsm card, cut along the lines and punch where the circle is. Check your printer's thickest setting.
Set Start at position to the first empty label, so a sheet with a few labels gone isn't wasted.
Barcodes on small tags can come out too narrow to scan. The tool warns you; choose a bigger tag or a shorter SKU.
Keep your list in a spreadsheet, update the prices and import it again for a fresh sheet.
Spreadsheet friendly
Keep your prices in a spreadsheet and use the maker for the tags. Or start from the free template.
The template has the five columns this maker reads: Product Name, Price, Sale Price, SKU and Copies. Open it in Excel or import it into Google Sheets, fill in your products, then import the CSV here.
Write 1500 or 1,500.50, without KSh or a currency sign. The tag adds the currency you pick in Step 1. If a spreadsheet exports prices with symbols, format the column as Number before you export, or the row will ask you to fix it.
Common questions
Quick answers about sale prices, tag sizes, part-used sheets, barcodes and printing.
Yes. Making, checking and previewing tags is free with no sign-up, and single PNG downloads are unlimited. PDF sheets include up to 50 tags a day for free, counting every copy. The allowance resets at midnight.
Type the normal price in Price and the sale price in Sale Price. The tag shows the sale price large, the old price crossed out, and the discount as a whole percent rounded down, such as 20% off for KSh 1,500 down to KSh 1,200. If the saving is under 1%, it shows the amount saved instead, such as Save KSh 5.
Shelf strips go on the shelf edge, under the product. Hang tags are cut from card and tied or tagged on to clothes, bags and gifts, with a circle marking where to punch the hole. Square stickers go on the product or its box.
Shelf strips come in three A4 sizes: 24 per sheet (63.5 × 33.9 mm), 21 per sheet (63.5 × 38.1 mm) and 14 per sheet (99.1 × 38.1 mm). These match the standard label sheets most brands sell, so check the size on your pack. Hang tags come in 48 × 90, 63 × 90 and 37 × 68 mm, and square stickers in 45, 63.5 and 35 mm.
Yes. In Step 4, set Start at position to the first empty label. Positions count across, then down, so on a 24-label sheet position 1 is the top left and 24 is the bottom right. The tags fill from there and carry on to a new sheet when that one is full.
Set Copies on that row, from 1 to 100. The sheet repeats the tag that many times, in table order, and adds pages as needed.
Yes. Turn on Barcode in Step 1 and the tag gets a Code 128 barcode made from the row's SKU, which most till scanners read. Rows without a SKU still print, without a barcode, and are flagged so you can add one. For stock labels where the barcode is the main thing, use the Barcode Generator instead.
Yes. Import the SKU Generator's CSV export as it is: Generated SKU, Product Name and Price map automatically. Or press Make price tags in the SKU Generator or the Barcode Generator and the products open here. Add sale prices and copies once they're in.
In Kenya and most countries outside the US, prices shown to shoppers must include VAT. Type the price the customer pays, and turn on the note line to print VAT inclusive if you want to say so.
The name shrinks to a smaller size first, then wraps onto two lines. Nothing is cut off. If it still won't fit, the row is flagged and the name prints smaller on more lines, so shorten it or choose a bigger tag.
KES (shown as KSh), USD, EUR, GBP, UGX, TZS, RWF, NGN, ZAR, CAD, AUD and INR. Type prices as plain numbers, such as 1500 or 1,500.50, and the tag adds the currency symbol. One currency applies to the whole sheet.
No. Tags are drawn in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. That also means your list isn't saved when you refresh or close the page, so download your tag sheet before you leave.
